Stephen D. Lowry

After over twenty years of practice with large law firms, Steve formed The Law Offices of Lowry & Associates in 2003. His practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, estate planning and administration, asset protection, and business and tax planning. He has a law degree from Duke University, and an undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is admitted to practice in both Ohio and North Carolina, and is a member of the Wake County, North Carolina, and American Bar Associations.

A native of Oklahoma, Steve’s IBM family eventually was moved to North Carolina in 1970, and he has resided in Raleigh for the most part since then. After graduating from Duke University School of Law in 1980, he practiced for five years in Cincinnati, Ohio with the major regional law firm of Frost and Jacobs. He returned to North Carolina in 1985, and joined the law firm of Sanford, Adams, McCullough & Beard. He was a partner with that firm until its merger with a Charlotte firm in 1990 to form Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, one of the largest firms in North Carolina. Steve continued as a partner with PPAB until he left in 2003 and formed The Law Offices of Lowry & Associates.

Steve is a frequent lecturer to professional groups and the general public on real estate, business, tax, and estate planning issues. He is an approved attorney with all of the major title insurance companies in the area, and is frequently solicited by those title companies to assist them in real estate matters and searches. He also counts several large law firms in the area as clients, for which he has handled numerous matters.

Steve and his wife Denise are the parents of Brian and Brittany, but the extended family also includes several dogs. They are both active in the Triangle community in both civic and professional affairs. Steve enjoys NC State and Lipscomb athletics, the Carolina Hurricanes, golf, and baseball (fantasy and real).

Lawson Emmons (Love)

Lawson is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal, and is involved in all of the firm’s residential real estate transactions. She has been with the firm since 2006, and has worked as a paralegal since 2004. Prior to that time she worked for BTI for three years as a WAN Engineering Service Coordinator. She handles all aspects of residential real estate closings, with a particular emphasis on the seller side of those transactions, and works with our builder-developer clients.

Lawson is a long time resident of Raleigh, having graduated from Broughton High School and attended NC State University. She and her husband, Daniel, have one son (with one more on the way) and one dog, Mabelle, who allow her time off to come to the office from time to time.

Denise Lowry

Denise, a legal assistant with the firm, has been with the firm since its inception in 2003, and has been intimately involved with and responsible for its growth. Denise is a licensed real estate broker, and thus is familiar with the issues that real estate agents and brokers have in structuring and closing residential real estate transactions. That skill set is invaluable to agents and the firm in closing those residential real estate transactions.

Denise handles all aspects of real estate transactions for the firm, and also serves as the office manager. A native and lifelong resident of Raleigh, she is actively involved in the community. She enjoys working in her garden, searching for yard sale bargains, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
